Duncan Anderson's drawings take us through a landscape of emotional states, transporting us not only through popular culture but also down the corridors of history. It is difficult to describe the poetry that plays out in these works. Sometimes, the work is simple and exuberant, while at other times dazzling and touching. Working both in drawing and in sculpture, the artist often pokes fun at himself while creating pieces that exude humor, sadness, sarcasm and personality. There is always a sense of foreboding comedy to the work.
