Kevin Berlin is internationally recognized for his work as a painter, sculptor and performance artist. An observer of our times, Berlin takes in his work a voyeuristic approach to capture the youth, glamour, and consumerism present in the club scene. With every gesture and glance of his pratagonists, the artist reveals their secret motivations and expresses their passion, despair, or joy. The large scale black and white paintings with hints of color may at times shock and disturb the viewer, and show Berlin’s interest in status, ambition, and cultural codes.

Born in Rochester NY in 1965, Berlin was honored as a YoungArts Presidential Scholar by Ronald Reagan in 1983. He received his B.A. from Yale University in 1987 and continued his studies in 1988 at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England. He currently lives and works in Southampton, New York and Florence, Italy.
